

Hubert Bourne, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday February 2nd following a brief period of declining health. He is survived by the love of his life Delores (Tag) Bourne, his loving wife of 66 years, son Michael Todd Bourne and his wife Debbie Thompson Bourne, son Jeffrey Carter Bourne, and daughter Sallie Kate Arnett and her husband Timothy Clark Arnett. He was a devoted family man who always put others first. He was the 6th son of the late Kinnard & Katherine (Kate) Walter Bourne. He was born January 9, 1926 on the family farm on Bettis Lane in Lancaster, Kentucky. He attended Herring Elementary School, a one-room school house, and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1944. He proudly served his country in World War II. After enlisting in the US Navy V-12 Program, he attended Berea College, Great Lakes Naval Training Center, and Central Michigan University for training. After the war, he attended the University of Kentucky where he was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. He was employed by General Cinema Corporation for 26 years and retired in 1990 after serving as their Division Manager for many years. He was recognized by the Will Rogers Motion Picture Institute as a Pioneer of American Cinema. He was an active member of Riverside United Methodist Church in Upper Arlington. He enjoyed working with Habitat for Humanity, the App
alachian Service Project and a wide variety of church related activities.
