Hugh Joseph Brunney Sr.

Hugh was a U.S. Navy veteran and the owner of B&E Home Improvement. He was a lifetime member of the Whitehall VFW and enjoyed camping with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard Brunney; and his son, Richard Brunney.

Hugh is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn (Mann) Brunney; children, Joseph Brunney, Joan Laird, James (Rhonda) Brunney, Steven (Trish) Schneider, and Teresa (Michael) McNaulty; grandchildren, Melissa Laird, Robert Laird, Nicholas Lawrence, Nathan Lawrence, Kendal (Steven) Kwasnick, Mary Elizabeth Brunney, Avery Brunney, and Addison Brunney; brothers, Timothy Brunney and Philip (Anne) Brunney; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where a memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Living Hospice or a veteran’s organization of your choice.
