Ira "Ed" Muncy,

Pastor Ira "Ed' Muncy, Sr, age 82 of Orient passed away Monday, August 24, 2020. Ed was born in Avondale, WV to the late Ewing and Lillian Muncy. Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the NRA and American Legion Post #888. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt, fish and camp. He was pastor of Pentecostal House of Prayer and later the Orient Independent Church of God. Ed never met a stranger. Preceded in death by parents Ewing and Lillian Muncy; daughters Ruth Muncy and Amy Meade. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Shirley Muncy; children Victoria (Jim) Wheeler, Steven Muncy, and Ira (Rachel) Muncy, Jr. Family will receive friends beginning at 11 AM and throughout the day Sunday, August 30 at the Orient Independent Church of God 11130 U.S. Route 62 where his funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday, August 31.
