

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mack Wise; and daughter-in-law, Donna Wise.
Jack is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marilyn (Barthelmas) Wise; sons, Jeff (Toni) Wise of Circleville, Professor Dr. Rick Wise of Milbridge, Maine, Jan of Laurelville and David of Amanda; granddaughters, Tiffany (Jason Vandagriff) Wise, Bethany (Loren) Savage, Olivia Wise; great-grandsons, Stone and Cooper Savage; and brother-in-law Ned Barthelmas of Columbus.
Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, WWII.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiwanis and the Marine Corp League.
Jack and his wife, Marilyn, owned Defenbaugh-Wise Funeral Home for many years.
Jack loved his Thunderbird collection, traveling with his family throughout the years in a multitude of campers, the first of which he built, and motor homes.
His two favorite post retirement past times were driving every morning to Goodwin’s for breakfast , in the golf cart, weather permitting and feeding the squirrels in the backyard.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 26, 2013 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Gerhard Kraus officiating. Burial will be in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 135 E.
