Jacob Michael McNamara

Jacob McNamara, age 20, of Johnstown.

It is with deep sadness that the family and friends of Jacob (Jake) McNamara announce his passing on January 5, 2019.

A graduate of Northridge High School, he was a free spirited outdoorsman who enjoyed wrestling, woodworking, movies, and spending time with family, friends and dogs.

In his all too brief life his infectious smile, humor, laughter and caring love for his family and friends brought an incredible amount of joy to all. We are richer to have shared his life and will profoundly miss him beyond words.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Dan and Margaret McNamara, Milton Jordan and cousin Adam Hartfield.

He is survived by his mother Suzanne (Ian) Van Huysen, his father James McNamara, brother Daniel McNamara, sister Shelby Hickey and grandmother Carole Jordan of Johnstown; aunts Margie (Jack) Harrison, Maureen (Tom) Persinger, Eileen (Dale) Castle, Cathy (Steve) Hartfield; uncles Bruce (Vicky) Jordan, Stephen (Krista) Jordan, Denny (Beth) McNamara, Danny McNamara; cousins Scott Hutchinson, Brittany (Anthony) Ellis, Shaunie Samantha Castle, Jessica (Jeff) Sowers, Nicholas Jordan, Vivienne and Leo Jordan, Kelly (Kyle) Hamlin, Chad (Amy) Harrison, Jeffrey (Stephanie) McNamara, Annie McNamara (Joey Northrup), Corey (Carrie) Hartfield, Brandi (Cody) Griffith, Josh McNamara, Julie (Troy) Pomykal, Brad (Amy) Smith, Artie Parker, Christina (Brad) Wood and 19 second cousins.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. through 8:oo p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230.

Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. followed by a ceremonial celebration of his life at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 11, 2019, at Johnstown Presbyterian Church, 81 South Main Street, Johnstown, Ohio 43031.

A luncheon at The Old Horseshoe Restaurant and Tavern in Johnstown will follow the memorial service.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to honor Jacob's life be made payable to Northridge Athletics Wrestling Program, 6066 Johnstown-Utica Road, Johnstown, Ohio 43031.
