

Born on June 27, 1940, in Huntington, West Virginia, to Martha Frances Ransdell and Frank C. Long Jr., Jacquie lived a life devoted to her family, career, and community.
A proud graduate of The Ohio State University, Jacquie began her career as a secondary education teacher before transitioning to Long's College Bookstore, where she found her passion for children's literature as a bookseller. Her love for books and learning extended into her volunteer work as a longtime board member of the Ohioana Library, where she contributed significantly to preserving and celebrating Ohio's literary heritage.
Jacquie found joy in long walks, reading, and exploring genealogy. She was an avid supporter of local arts including the Columbus Symphony, Columbus Art Museum, and Broadway Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Christina. She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, James; her son Geoffrey Vaughan (Jill); and her cherished grandchildren Anthony Corbett, Conner Skufca (Rachael), Jake and Brooke Vaughan; great grandchildren, Rocky, Ryder and Rylie Corbett; many loving family members and close friends.
Jacquie's unwavering dedication to education and literature left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose intelligence, determination, and warm spirit inspired those around her.
