James Ely

James Earl Ely, 81, of Grove City, died Friday, April 3, 2015. He was born September 30, 1933 in Columbus to the late Edward and Anna (Gaa) Ely. Jim was a 1951 graduate of Grove City High School and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was past president and a 61- year member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 189, a 50- year member of the Enduro Riders Association, a self taught folk artist and a devoted family man. He was co-owner of Automatic Temperature and Process Systems. He is preceded in death by his brother Allen. Jim is survived by Lucia, his loving wife of 62 years, his brother Terry, his children Jeff (Jeanette), Scott (Kathy), Vic (Susan), Tim (Tonya), Sandy (Len), grandchildren David, Laura, Matthew (Karin), Jessica, Kelly, Krista (Shawn), Angela, Stephanie, Julie, James, Andee, Benjamin, Zachary and Heather (Ian), great grandchildren Erin, Ryan, Kaiden, Makenzee, Carter, Kearsta, Courtney, Nicholas and Nathan. Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 3-7 PM at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway where a funeral will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 10 AM.
