Kris, Jason, Nick and Matthew, 
We were so saddened to hear of the loss of James.  We always looked forward to seeing your family whenever there was a get together and always enjoyed the time we  spent with you.  I will never forget when Jason and Hannah were born, which was just a few days apart, and we took hundreds of pictures of the two babies together at Mom and Dad's house.  We were all so happy and excited.  I also especially remember the auction at Aunt Helen's house and so many other memories there.  James was a very special person that we really liked.  He was so smart and funny.  We hope that your happy memories sustain you.

Dear Gaston Family,

We knew James from our family members, Austin & Heath LaFaber. Austin and Nick played many sports together and became very good friends.  When our family came to Austin’s games and saw Nick, Matthew and James it was always a happy and friendly experience.  James was always welcoming and ready to discuss that day’s sports events and how the boys were doing in school and their activities.  We did not know him personally as maybe others did, but when we were around him we were met with a smile and a friendly conversation.  

We are deeply saddened by the loss of your husband and father.  Nothing can replace the man that he was and always will be to you.  Hold on to the love, memories and laugher that you shared together.  Find comfort and peace in knowing that James is with our faithful and loving Savior today. For us Christians, we know this is not the end but our reward for salvation, everlasting life with our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.

Kris, Jason, Matthew and Nicholas,  I was so saddened to hear of James' passing. I was always touched by how he treated you Kris, putting his arm around you on the football bleachers, holding out your chair before you sat down, kind words and more. His love for you was obvious to all and he set a great example for your sons to be loving, supportive husbands.  The boys were blessed to have such an involved father that is shaping them in to fine men, no better legacy could be left behind.  James will be missed in your lives and the all of the lives he touched, including ours, I am so sorry for your grief.

Outgoing, social, friendly, chuckling, smiling...were wonderful traits of Jim.  Guiding, giving, sharing, caring, patience, and wit were also some of his distinguishing characteristics that he shared with the Scouts.  Although he will be sorely missed by the "Scouting Family," please know that our thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this most difficult time.

We are so, so sorry to learn of James's death.  He was a very good man, and a real leader in our community whether it be in the schools, with scouts, or sports.  We cannot imagine the sorrow you are now feeling.  We will miss him dearly.  Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our thoughts are with you. While we cannot know the depth of your grief, we can only hope you are comforted by knowing how much James will be missed, by so many.
