

James L. “Jim” Gloyd, 94, of Columbus, passed away on May 4, 2018. He was born on November 21, 1923 to Clarence and Freda (Ohte) Gloyd. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 75 years Faye (Murray) Gloyd, son James, and daughter-in-law Renie.
Jim will be greatly missed by his daughter Suzanne Mount; daughter-in-law Steffanie Czaja; grandchildren Troy (Gina) and Jason Mount, Sarah (Hasan) Yacoub, and Matthew Gloyd; Great grandchildren Hannah and Nicole Mount, Ryan Mount, Trent Gloyd, Dalia, Farrah, Amina and Kamrie Yacoub and niece Vicki Baer.
Jim was a long-time member of the Magnolia Lodge 22 and a 31-year veteran of the Columbus Police Department. He proudly served in the Army during WW II .
Jim was a founding member of Trinity United Church of Christ, 1180 Shanley Drive, where his funeral will be held at 10am Saturday, May 12, 2018. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends from 2-4pm Friday, May 11, 2018 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street. Memorial contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to the church.
