

James Joseph Jentgen, age 93, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in Naples, Florida. He was born on March 2, 1932, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Dr. Louis and Mrs. Rita Mae (Ferro) Jentgen.
Jim was a graduate of Aquinas High School. He attended University of Virginia and The Ohio State University earning a degree in finance. After completing his studies, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He dedicated his life to a successful career in construction development, both in Columbus, Ohio and Naples, Florida, leaving a lasting legacy through his work and leadership in the industry. He had a deep passion for maintaining his beloved farm and island home where he found both purpose and peace.
Jim was an avid traveler who embraced the beauty and diversity of the world with his wife, Kris. A lover of adventure, he found joy in snow skiing and boating in the Gulf of Mexico. Jim cherished every moment with his family and friends. He had an insatiable curiosity and love for reading that lasted throughout his life. His devotion to his Catholic faith guided the way he lived, loved, and led both personally and professionally. Jim was a constant, loving presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren and was a steady source of guidance and wisdom.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Kristina; children, Jeffrey Jentgen, Lisa Jentgen Coker, Philip (Nicki) Jentgen, Karl "Fritz" (Kristin) Jentgen, Kristin "DeeDee" Jentgen; grandchildren, James Coker, Taylor Coker, Tatum Jentgen, Finn Jentgen, Emily Jentgen, Jack Jentgen; Kristina's children, Tina Tomblin, Sue (Chip) Parrish, Jim Tomblin; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Emily Mount; son, Michael; brother, Richard; sister-in-law, Connie; sister, Mary Lou (Bill) Sheaf; and his dear aunt, Julia Jentgen Reimer. He will be greatly missed as the patriarch of the Jentgen Family.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Schoedinger Northwest, located at 1740 Zollinger Road in Upper Arlington, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1880 Northam Road in Upper Arlington, Ohio on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM. James will be laid to rest at a private cemetery at the family’s farm. A celebration of life will be held in Naples, Florida. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of St Francis, 200 St. Francis Avenue, Tiffin Ohio, 44883.
