James William “Jim” McGuire, age 80, of Dublin passed away peacefully June 18, 2015. He was born August 7, 1934 to the late Claude and Naomi McGuire in Groveport, Ohio. Graduate of Groveport High School; Ohio Wesleyan University Class of 1956; and The Ohio State University Law School Class of 1960.
Jim and his wife Lyn moved from Arlington to Dublin in 1965 where they raised their four children. He practiced law for the extent of his career, specializing in real estate. While building a successful law practice, Jim stayed true to his humble roots and maintained his farm in Harrisburg, Ohio for more than 30 years. He treasured the annual farm parties and the many friends he had in the area. For over 20 years, Jim was an active member of the Columbus Zoo Board and took pride in being included in the negotiations that brought pandas to the zoo. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, quick wit, as well as being a loyal friend. His house on the hill always had an open door to family, friends, and colleagues, to share a laugh, a drink, or just reminisce.
Jim appreciated everyone who touched his life and made it a memorable journey.
Jim is survived by his sisters Luan Zangmeister and Mary Sue Gregg; his children, Michael, Patrick (Annie), Kevin (Jody), and Molly; his grandchildren, Jamie, Kelly, and Elliott.
The Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of The Forum at Knightsbridge and Harbor Light Hospice for the incredible support and care they provided for Jim. And a special thank you also to the wonderful people at Schoedinger, especially Eric, for giving us peace of mind knowing that Dad was in the presence of friends.
