James Pritchard Pickens, 83, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord, April 16, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pritchard Pickens and Murdie King; sisters, Louise Hendricks, Lillie Smith, Margaret (William) Jordan; daughter, Janet L. (Fred) Abercrombie; son, James M. Pickens and granddaughter, Jajuanna L. Pickens. James is survived by his daughters, Judy (Larry) Grinston, Joyce Pickens, Jeannine Shippen, Jackie (Stanley) Brookins, Jodi (Timothy) Morton, J. Renee (Robb) Goodwin; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also to cherish his memory is the wonderful staff at Abaco (We Care). Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00AM Friday, April 23, 2010 at New Birth Christian Ministry 3475 Refugee Rd. Columbus, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 11:00AM. Pastor Kenneth E. Moore, Sr. will be officiating with interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
