

Jane F. (Freidenberg) Finkelstein Goodman, died on June 2, 2011 after a brief illness. She was 93 years old and lived independently until just before her death. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 22, 1917, to the late Nathan and Hattie Freidenberg. Jane earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and Education from The Ohio State University, as well as a Master’s in Education from Capital University. She was a voracious reader, and she continued taking classes at Capital University throughout her life. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, and she loved to travel. She was an active member of the Temple Israel, and she served on the board of the Wexner Heritage House. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ted Finkelstein; second husband, Lou Goodman; and siblings, Evelyn Linick, Malcolm Freidenberg, and Mildred Freidenberg. She is survived by her children, James H. (Laurie Ferreri) Finkelstein, and Joel S. Finkelstein; and nieces and nephews, Judy Linick Kaufman, Joy Linick Gammage, David Freidenberg, Debbie Freidenberg Laris, Dr. Alan (Marcia) Weiss, Robert Weiss, Dr. Stephen (Lisa) Weiss, Dr. Michael (Robin) Weiss, Laurie (Stan) Braidman, Susie (Dr. Charles) Abrams, Dr. Larry (Jan) Silverman and Drs. Bruce (Nancy) and Terry (Nancy) Meyer, as well as many loving friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011, at the Temple Israel, 5419 E. Broad St., Rabbi Misha Zinkow officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Monday June 6, 2011 and Tuesday June 7, 2011 from 7-9pm at Jane’s residence.
