Jean Alexander - White

She was preceded in death by her 6 siblings, daughter Cheryl Foster and 2 sons Jerrell (infant) and Glenn Bryant.

Jean was an accomplished educator with a creative spirit. Her love for education was shown in the 3 children’s books she wrote and published. Jean received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education from the Ohio State University. She also earned a PhD in educational administration from University of Michigan. She was a member of the Central Ohio National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in Columbus, Ohio.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband, George White; son, Darrel Bryant of Harleysville, PA; daughter, Marsha (Robin) Lawrence of Laguna Hills, CA, son-in-law Shannon Foster, Jr. and sister, Catherine Alexander. She cherished the love of her many nieces, nephews, grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at St. John AME Church 7700 Crossroads Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43235, (614) 888- 0984. Family visiting hour will be held at 10:00 am. The eulogy will begin at 11:00 am. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Worthington Chapel. In lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to St. John AME Church in her memory.
