

She was raised in Canton, Ohio by her mother Aldalyn, and her aunt and uncle, Charles and Grace Reager. She went on to graduate Canton Lehman High School in 1955, and the Mount Union College in 1958 with a Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education.
Jean taught for 3 years at Canton Gibbs Grade School. She married Allen Cecil Heilman on 4 February, 1961, before moving to Columbus, Ohio in June of that same year. There she taught for 7 years at Leawood and Barnett Grade Schools.
Later, Jean was a substitute teacher for many years at Stewart Traditional Grade School, where her children attended, and after that she substituted for a short period at Easthaven Elementary.
She was given a Life Membership into the National Parent Teacher Association.
Jean was a long time member of Southeast Christian Church (now Gender Road Christian Church) where she served on the church board as President, Financial Secretary, Women's Group President, and Building Committee Chair.
Upon her passing, Jean was a proud member of Madison Christian Church.
Jean was very crafty, and loved to design and create cross-stitch Christmas ornaments and cards.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Allen Cecil Heilman, her son Mark (Laura), her daughter Debbie (Joe) Natkevicius, and three grandchildren: Riona Heilman, Ben and Sophia Natkevicius.
Services are being handled by Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus on Monday,10 March, 2025 with visitation at 12:00 pm and funeral at 1:00pm.
Burial will follow the funeral at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus
