

Jerry M. Tabor, 63, of Columbus passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 14, 2011. He was born on December 12, 1947, in Huntington, West Virginia. The son of the late William Paul Tabor and Flora Finley Tabor. He was raised in Jackson, Ohio and graduated from Jackson High School in 1965. He attended Marshall University and served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam. He received the National Defence Medal, Vietnam, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, SECNAV Meritorious Unit Citation. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he started work at Ohio Bell and after divestiture continued to work for its various successors; AT&T and Lucent Technology. He was responsible for innovations that were adopted company-wide. For much of his career, he traveled throughout the world instructing employees in emerging nations regarding communications systems and innovative technology. He retired from Lucent Technology several years ago. He also enjoyed coaching little league for North Franklin. Jerry is survived by his wife of 39 years, Martha Ericson Tabor. He is also survived by his children, Lori (Brad) Haynes of Jackson, OH; Joshua Tabor of Columbus, and Lyza Tabor of Columbus; his grandchildren, Mackenzie and Marley Haynes, Eli, Lauren, and Nolan Tabor, Maria Houston, and Leea and Samuel Tabor; his twin sister, Judy Boss of Denver, Colorado.
