Jessie Lee Floyd, age 24 of Memphis, TN, passed away unexpectedly in Grove City, OH, Monday, January 28, 2019. Jessie was born August 17, 1994, in Memphis, TN - the city and state that would ALWAYS be home for her heart. She graduated from Columbus West High school, class of 2012. Jessie loved so many things…cooking and making everyone eating smile while they feasted. Music was always in her ear - be it classic rock, hard rock, pop, or rap. She absolutely loved being a waitress. It let her be in front of people, making them smile and spreading her goofy laughter. She was nicknamed Uncle Jessie because she loved children desperately. If she could get her hands on a baby, her heart was content, and that child was loved immensely and unconditionally. Jessie most loved her family and friends. She had an uncanny ability to befriend a person and be ready to fight for them tooth and nail within the first day of knowing them. Her love of animals, scary movies (watched WITH someone, of course), and the classic comedy movies is a true reflection of her desire to be happy. Her quiet moments coloring, writing poems, crocheting, and organizing her thoughts is the reflection of a person who craved quiet times to grow, only to share the results of those tasks to create smiles to those surrounding her. Jessie is preceded in death by her father Forrest "Dave" Floyd; maternal grandfather Albert Norman Johnson, Jr; paternal grandparents Harry and Louise Floyd. Jessie is survived by her mother Laura (Danny Clemons) Floyd; brother Cody Forrest Floyd; sisters Dana Robin (Greg) Floyd of Memphis, TN and Amber (Michael) Callaway; wife Miranda Finlison; maternal grandmother Brenda Lee Johnson; Step-grandmother Marsha Johnson; Uncles Albert and Kenneth Johnson, Aunt Cathy Floyd (of Memphis); many cousins, friends, and furbabies.
