

Jo Anna Carpenter, age 68, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017. She was born July 13, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles and Anna (Thompson) Kindred. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine of Jerusalem North Star, played French horn in the Shriner band, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1987-1995. Jo was a very active volunteer for cancer support groups. She crocheted many blankets for patients going through chemotherapy. She also loved bowling, service animals and her animals at home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William K. Carpenter Sr. Jo Anna is survived by step son, William Carpenter Jr; step daughter-in-law, Gloria Carpenter; step grandchildren, Grant (Alyssa) Carpenter and Lauren (JR) Carpenter; step great grandchildren, Jude and Evie Carpenter; brother, Charles (Margo) H. Kindred Jr; nieces Jodee Lowe and Kelly (Steve) Henry; great nieces Samantha (Chris) Six and Cora (Nick) Nungesser; 2 great, great nephews, 2 great, great nieces and one great, great, great niece, sister-in-law, Judy Kindred, other family members Elaine Ebright and Rebecca (John) Borland, and her fur-babies, Lady, Holly, and Molly. Family will have calling hours on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL 3920 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 10am. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project in Jo's name.
