Joey Maxwell Hooper passed away suddenly on May 12, 2015 at her home in Lewis Center, Ohio, one month after her 74th birthday. She was a special woman who was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was a talented knitter, a master gardener and a perpetual student of all things new and interesting.
Joey loved gadgets; unlike many her age, she embraced all the latest in technology. She was employed as a clinical counselor for many years. Her husband, family and friends were Joey’s top priorities. She will be terribly missed.
She is survived by her devoted husband Michael T. Hooper; children Myles (Patty) Owens, Joe (Tammy) Owens, Julie (Jason) Layland, Michael A. Hooper, Karen (Jason) Privette and Kristin (Joe) Zabratanski; her 13 grandchildren; her brother Roy (Sharon) Maxwell; nephews, Todd (Renee) and Craig (Emily) Maxwell, and their families.
Family will receive friends from 4-6pm, Friday, May 15, 2015 at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, where a Funeral Service honoring her life will be held at 6:00 p.m. that evening. Her brother, Pastor Roy Maxwell, officiating.
Family asks that memorial contributions be made to www.give1fordad.com, honoring Joey’s son, Myles.
