Dear Anne, Cris and Johnny;

We are so sorry to hear of Monk's passing.  We had many great memories back in the day!  From babysitting jobs, neighborhood parties and one prank from three neighborhood girls that pinned Monk's horn in the driveway!  This was before we all locked the car doors.  Boy, was Monk mad!! We lived in a great neighborhood during the late 60's thru 2015.
Your husband and dad will always be with you!

Dr. Clifford hired me as the office errand boy when I was 14 years old and we quickly became great friends. He always joked with and teased me but also was a great mentor. In later years I would see him at Scioto CC and we would catch up.

It is still very hard for me to believe that Monk is gone.  My brain says its so but my heart wont accept it. Every day at the club I would say “ Hello Monk” the same way Seinfeld would greet Neumann the postman.  Monk would always smile.  Over the years we became very close friends. It was a friendship based on trust.  You could tell Monk anything.  Never judged never complained.  Monk was always willing to take the load off your shoulder and equally reluctant to share his.  He guarded his illness very carefully.  He didn’t want his friends to feel bad. He was brave in the face of this diagnosis and never asked “why me” In the end Monk was grateful for the life he had.  He loved Annie and all his family, they were a source of tremendous joy.  His friends at the bar were a significant part of his life.  He longed for day’s daily banter.  He took heat and he dished it out with equal measure.  He was always on the lookout for a sure thing.  So sure in fact that his constant offer of one large became a reflex. I will miss his friendship with Mr. John Daniels. He always seemed to get smarter after they talked.  Tim would only let him get so smart. Life at club will go on.  It is a flowing river that none of us can stop. But I must admit there will be one bend that will never be the same regardless of who sits there. I will always remember the smile, the laugh, the hug and the friendship.  Monk you were a kind and gentle man.  You made the world a better place and were are all the richer for having known you. Monk may be gone but he will never be forgotten. He lit up a room when he entered. He was loving and caring to all.

I’ll always remember Monk and the wonderful  spring break vacations we enjoyed together in Siesta Key in the 70s/80s.  It was hard to tell if the parents or kids were more ornery, and Monk was usually knew-deep in the hijinks.  He loved life, loved his friends, and was especially proud of his family.  His spirit will endure, that’s for sure.

The Stag Room will not be the same without Monk.  He was not one to make a wager but when he did, he would say: "I will put a LARGE ONE on that", meaning $1.00.  He will be missed and remembered forever.

Monk was a great football coach..He helped us all get through those hard years in high school ..The world will miss Monk ..Jim Ryan & Family..

Dr.  Clifford was my dentist from five years old (in Forest Park) to about 45 years old because I moved too far away from his office in Arlington.  He was always so upbeat and made me feel like family.  My favorite memory of him is when the song "Julie  Do Ya Love Me" (Bobby Sherman) was released in 1970, every time I went to see him, he would sing the song to me.  Of course, I groaned but loved it all the same.  He was a wonderful man and I think about him often.

Monk was a caring and genuine person who possessed a positive and upbeat attitude toward everyone he knew. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have been his friend.

Monk was one of those rare individuals who truly cared for others and always looked on the bright side of life.  He inspired, consoled and was always true to his word.  He was a wonderful friend who will be dearly missed, but his spirit lives on.

Monk was one of the most kind and caring people I’ve ever met. His friendship has meant, and will always mean, so much to me. Thank you for all of the memories! Heaven got a good one. We’ll miss you, Monk!
