John Paul Cloppert was born in Columbus, OH, on July 11, 1977, to Frederick Cloppert, Jr. and Patricia H. Cloppert. He passed away on June 15, 2025. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Frederick III (“Rick”/Carolina Patino) and Brian; niece Daniela; and nephews Ricardo, Nicolas, and Javier. Also like family was his dedicated caregiver for the last 18 years, Ernest Nkrumah.
A prayer service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel, 9571 North High Street, Lewis Center, OH, at 12:30 p.m. on June 23, 2025. Inurnment will follow.
His family and friends will miss his friendly and gentle disposition and loyal nature, and the dimples that so often appeared on his smiling face in his youth. He enjoyed vacations in northern Michigan at Elk Lake and on Grand Traverse Bay, especially the spray that hit his face during boat rides along the shoreline.
He was fortunate to receive support from the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Goodwill in addition to the devoted staff he had at home during his adulthood.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Schoedinger Northwest. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Autism Society Central Ohio or the Nisonger Center at The Ohio State University, fund number 302755.
