John and his wife Carole were the owners and operators of Long Sign Company for 40 years. He was a loving caring family man, and happiest when he was with his children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his mother, Mable Pickett Long.
Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carole L. Long, daughters, Deanna (David) Cathey, Liza Gaines, Johnita (Ronald) Yurek; grandchildren, Steven (Cierra) Cathey, Marie Cathey, Jamie Marie (William) Larimer; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Marie Cathey; lifelong friends, Chuck and Shirley Galbraith; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Family will receive friends, Monday February 27, 2017 from 10-12pm at the Schoedinger Funeral Home, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, where a service will start at 12pm. Interment to follow, Blendon Cemetery.
