

John Lester Ollam, 88, of Columbus, Ohio passed away September 12, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at Mount Carmel West. He was born on October 18, 1926 and attended Central High School. John was a retired firefighter for Franklin Township where he served for 30 years. He was a former Music Booster Treasurer of Franklin Heights High School (1968-1978). Enjoyed camping at Cowen Lake, woodworking, gardening, and loved time spent with family and friends. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia; parents, Ruth (Henslee) Boals and Marion Ollam; sister, Anne Quayle; and step-mother, Velva (McCall) Ollam. John is survived by his children, John (Cheryl) Ollam, Connie (Mark) Claytor, Amy Campbell-Taggert, Brenda (Bill) Blanton, David Ollam, and Leanna Patrick; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and dear friends. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City where funeral service will be held 10am Wednesday. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
