

John Bernard Power, Sr., age 84 of Columbus, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 following a brief illness. John was born in Columbus, son of the late Matilda and James Power, Sr. Also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara M. (Albert) Power, siblings, Helen Hunter, Vincent, James Jr., Thomas, Paul, Joseph and William, and brother-in-law, Edward Albert. John served his country in the U.S. Army and was a life-long member of the Catholic Church. John is survived by his children, John Jr. (Barbara), Joseph (Donna), Lawrence (Karen), Thomas, David, Marianne (Alan) Neal, Sharon (Blaise) Johnston; sisters, Regina Carlin and Frances Jamison; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to carry on his love and dedication to family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel, 9571 N. High St., Lewis Center. Father James T. Smith, Celebrant. Family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Friday at SCHOEDINGER LINDEN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 2741 Cleveland Ave., where a prayer service will begin at 6 P.M. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
