
Born June 24th 1955 in Pottstown, PA, he lived most of his life in and around Columbus and worked for the State of Ohio for 30 years, most recently as a Nosologist, classifying OH residents’ various causes of death for statistical purposes. John was also a member of the North Columbus Friends Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). He graduated from the Perkiomen High School in 1973 in Trappe, Pennsylvania, and later with a B.A. from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, his mother’s alma mater.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, and his brother Paul Savage, sister in-law, Fay Savage and nieces Samantha, May, Lorrie and Betty of Grosse Pointe, Michigan. John was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Huntington Savage and Deborah Sargent Furnas Savage, as well as his older brother, William Wright Savage.
A memorial service will be held at the North Columbus Friends Meeting, 1954 Indianola Avenue in Columbus on a date that will be announced shortly. John will be buried at the Gwynedd Friends Meeting Cemetery this spring, along with his parents and brother.
