John R. Sayre

John R. Sayre, age 62, passed away, Thursday, December 8, 2011 at St. Ann’s Hospital. John was born in Columbus on May 7, 1949 to the late Handley “John” and Vina Sayre. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Germany. After being honorably discharged he worked in the commercial refrigeration business for 43 years. He was a long time member of Local #189 Plumbers and Pipefitters. John was well respected and highly regarded by all who knew him. Because of his continuous selflessness, John made many friends in his life. He was an avid Buckeye and Bengals fan. He was a loving, generous, and cherished husband, father, and PaPa. He is preceded in death by his sister, Loraine McFadden. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 42 years, Debbie; son, John Jr. (Heather) and daughter, Michelle; granddaughters, Isabel and Payton; brothers, Raymond (Connie), and Dennis (Mary Ann); sisters, Doris Horsley, and Linda Webb; mother-in-law, Becky Eblin; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Monday, December 12, 2011at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL 3920 Broadway Grove City where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 13, 2011.
