

John Roger Strang lived from January 23, 1925 until October 28, 2025. He was the middle child of George Christian Strang and Mary Rogers Strang. He grew up in Girard, Ohio. He was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University. He was in good physical and mental health, living in Bexley until he went to be with the Lord. He did not suffer. John was a devoted husband to Eunice (nee Formby) until her passing in 2016. Preceded in death by his parents George and Mary Strang; sister Dora; infant daughter Cristina. He loved and is loved by his children: Laurie (Troy), Terri (Rick ), Jo (Shobhik) and Roger (Janine); his 3 grandchildren and his 2 great-grandchildren. He is survived also by his brother David A. Strang and 8 nieces, nephews, and their families. He was devoted to his church, Bexley United Methodist – learned to Zoom during the pandemic to attend services. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Navy from 1943-1946 at Tarawa, Philippines, and Okinawa campaigns. He worked for North American Aviation/Rockwell as an electrical engineer for many years. He was active in the company golf and bowling leagues; enjoyed reading, gardening, wine-making and visiting historical places especially after retirement. He enjoyed fishing into his 90’s. He was a substitute dad to anyone who needed one, and a steady beacon of solid support. His memory will be a blessing. He will be sorely missed. Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday, November 7, 2025 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, OH 43232. Funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday, November 8th at Bexley United Methodist Church, 2657 E. Broad St. Bexley, OH 43209. Pastor Colleen Ogle officiating. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please support your loved ones and/or donate to the Alzheimer’s Association, Planned Parenthood or your local food bank in his name.
