Jorge Eduardo Rivas-Carvajal

Ec. Jorge Eduardo Rivas Carvajal Sr., aged of 63, passed away December 08, 2020. Jorge was born January 31, 1957 in Imbabura, Ecuador. He was preceded in death by his parents Jorge Alberto Rivas Teran and Maria Teresa Carvajal Rosales. Jorge is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Carmen M. Cantos Mendoza; children; Jorge Eduardo Jr. Rivas, Hugo Fernando Rivas, Fausto Adrian Rivas and Pablo Dario Rivas, grandchildren; Emily G. Rivas and Adrian E. Rivas; sisters; Maria Teresa Rivas and Rosa Elena Rivas, brothers; Carlos Francisco Rivas, Jose Miguel Rivas, Raul Oswaldo and Luis Alberto; many nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends. He was a longtime member of the Christ the King church. In his free time, he loved traveling with his wife and both enjoyed country road motorcycle rides. He loved supporting his family specially his wife but, as a great father that he was, he was the rock for his children as to why he always said to his children, "QUE BUENO MIJITO"; Jorge also loved Christmas and he took his time laying out the perfect display of Christmas lights because he knew it gave his wife joy.

Jorge then worked for many years in the Banking Industry in Ecuador. This was followed by years of employment as a self-employee with his own distribution business and University Teacher. Jorge was an EcuaVolley player, a dedicated motorcycle enthusiast, and a world traveler. He loved music, dancing, a good movie, and playing games with the family. He loved meeting people of all ages and visiting new places. Jorge loved his family, Virgen Mary and God. Jorge lived his faith throughout his very full life. He was a leader and participant in several Catholic religious groups for most of his life.

Family and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday, December 18, 2020 at SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5360 Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232. For your safety, masks will be required and attendance will be limited to 28 to 30 people in the room where family members and friends are welcome. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Saturday, December 19th, 2020 in the Chapel at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 North High St. Lewis Center, OH 43035, Fr. David Schalk Celebrant. Interment to follow immediately following.
