

Joshua David Dick, age 18, of Columbus, was called to be with the Lord Friday, July 31, 2015 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Josh was born October 21, 1996 in Columbus, Ohio. He touched the lives of so many people with his contagious smile and engaging sense of humor and will be sorely missed by his parents, David and Rhonda sister, Rachel; grandmother, Phyllis Rickey, Galloway; aunt and uncles, Lisa (David) Farquhar, Ron Rickey, Anthony Rickey and William (Linda) Dick; cousins, Nicole, Matthew, Nicholas, Christopher and Heather; many fellow classmates and close friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ronald Rickey and paternal grandparents, William and Helen Dick. Josh was a 2015 graduate of Grove City Christian High School, where he finished 3rd in his class, was Graduation Marshall and was the recipient of an academic letter while battling cancer this past year. He also received the OHSAA Courageous Student Award and the GCCS Paul Award, for his commitment to Christ in the midst of difficult circumstances. Josh also was active in the Spanish Club, and past treasurer; member of National Honor Society and past secretary; member of the Worship team; nominated to the Homecoming court for two years and crowned King as a senior. He participated in Varsity Soccer and Track, where as a junior he won the title of Honorable Mention for soccer in the Mid State League. Josh was active in his youth group at Cypress Wesleyan Church, where he participated in mission trips and gave of himself in a variety of community efforts with close to 200 hours of community service. Josh loved tinkering with computers and photography. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday, August 3, 2015 at CYPRESS WESLEYAN CHURCH, 377 Alton Darby Creek Rd., Galloway, where funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, August 4, 2015.
