Judy Phillips was born to her parents Raymond and Jane (Kinser) Scott on August 28, 1953 in Mann, West Virginia. She was one of seven children; George, Helen, Betty, Theodore, Franklin Scott, and youngest brother, Spencer Gearhart. She came to Columbus in her early teens, and stayed here the remainder of her life. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jane and Raymond Scott; her brothers, George and Theodore Scott; and her sister, Helen Ripley. She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Russell Phillips; two daughters, Jane Geselles and Patty Damron; two stepdaughters, Rachelle Parsley (Solomon), and Angela Minshall (Mathew); and one stepson, Bryan Phillips (Beth); along with twenty grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Scott and Spencer Gearhart; and one sister, Betty Vance. Judy's favorite pastime was decorating. She had an uncommon ability to take any plain unattractive nothing space, and turn it into something qualified to be displayed in Better Homes and Gardens. She had an uncanny knack to design and create, and took great joy in doing so. Judy was a member of the Grove City Church of God. She was the type of person that as soon as someone was introduced to her, they immediately liked her! She was unbelievably sweet and caring, and was more than happy to help anyone she could, in any way she could! She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched! Visitation will be 4-8 PM on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Grove City Church of God, 4325 Harrisburg Pike, Grove City, OH 43123 where funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday January 28, 2015. Entombment Sunset Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Schoedinger Grove City Chapel. Visit www.schoedinger.com to share a favorite memory of Judy.
