

Julia Johnson Kelly, 96, passed away on September 12, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio. Julia was born on October 14, 1920 and her parents were the late Olaf and Louisa Johnson. She went to school and grew up on the Galchutt/Abercrombie, North Dakota area. After graduation from the State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND, she worked at the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Fargo, ND, prior to enlisting in the US Navy WAVES in 1944. She was stationed at the Sand Point Naval Air Station in Seattle, WA, where she met her husband, Robert C. Kelly, of Chicago, IL. They were married in 1946 after leaving the service and were at home in Chicago before retiring to Florida in 1996. Julia is survived by her daughter Marilyn (Anton) Larson and her son Daniel (Julia) Kelly. She also leaves eight grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, as well as three brothers, Melvin, Herman and Clifford Johnson; two sisters Laura Ostby and Ruth Hellander. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Galchutt-Abercrombie area next to her husband as well as many Johnson family members. Arrangements were entrusted to the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna.
