

June Lester Cornetet of Upper Arlington passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on September 2, 2015. She was born on September 15, 1925 in Reedy, WV to Emmet E. and Odra (DePue) Lester, a member of a pioneer family of Roane County, WV. She graduated from Spencer (WV) High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Thespian Society. She graduated from Perry Business School, and majored in Business Administration at West Virginia University where she became a member of Chi Omega Sorority. June was a member of Boulevard Presbyterian Church, life member of the OSU Faculty Club, former president of the OSU Electrical Engineering Wives, member of the OSU Women's Club, Afternoon Bridge, Couples Dinner Bridge and was a longtime volunteer of the Social Service Group. She was the past president of the Women's Auxiliary of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, life member of Ohio State University Association and a charter member of the Upper Arlington Historical Society. In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wendell H. Cornetet, Jr.; brother, John Mark Lester; and daughter, Jane Cornetet Hughes; She will be greatly missed by her son, Wendell H. (Suzy) Cornetet, III; grandchildren, Wendell H. Cornetet IV, Christopher A. Cornetet, Cheryl (John) Cornetet Goodwin; great grandchildren, Wendell H. Cornetet V, Caiden Cornetet, and Lucy, Marlee and Harper Goodwin. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7pm Wednesday, September 9 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street. Private family service and interment will be held on Thursday.
