

June Braden Samuels, age 95, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, passed away Monday night, August 17, 2015. She was born in Braddock, Pennsylvania of Grace Hodder Braden and William David Braden. She lived in the Pittsburgh area until she moved with her family to Akron, Ohio in 1937, where she graduated from North High School in 1938 and attended business college. In 1942, she married Edward Joseph Samuels and moved to Cuyahoga Falls to start a family. In 1959, June and Ned moved their family of six children to Florida, first to Orlando, then to Sarasota. In 1965, the couple moved to Athens, Ohio, where June worked in the payroll department for Ohio University. In 1969, the family moved to their home in Upper Arlington. June worked for the Ohio State University Accounting Department for 18 years until her retirement in 1987. She was actively involved in the lives of her six children and her many close family members. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, bowling, traveling and vacationing at the beach. June was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Survivors include her six children, Gary Samuels of Cape Coral, Florida, Susan Hill of Atlantic Beach, Florida, Bradley Samuels of Round Rock, Texas, Brent Samuels of Ft Myers Beach, Florida, Brian Samuels of Fremont, California, and Shelley Duran of Houston, Texas; her children's spouses; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Gloria Lieser of Upper Arlington; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, August, 28th at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL at 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio, with visiting hours there from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM followed by a memorial service from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
