Katharine "Kate" Tarbox Schottland

Katharine "Kate" Tarbox Schottland, lost her battle with cancer on January 10, 2022, and went on to be with the Lord. Kate was born to Jon and Nancy Tarbox on July 16, 1974, in Columbus, Ohio. Kate graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1992 and received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. Kate held various jobs over the years, ranging from a large brokerage firm in South Florida, to co-owning and operating the DogTopia location in Nashville, TN, to hospitality industry positions, a role as a professional personal assistant, and a sales position with an Insurance Company. Kate loved animals of all kinds, especially dogs, including her first dog, Prince; her very vocal huskies Martin and Willie; Oakey, who wandered onto her property looking for a new home; and finally, Lotto, her most recent rescue dog and beloved companion. Kate loved to travel and did a lot of it, never turning down an adventure! She enjoyed the outdoors-she even became a certified master gardener and volunteered in the Nashville community. At home, you could always find Kate in the middle of several projects like updating bathrooms, painting cabinets, organizing drawers, landscaping, knitting, and many other crafty activities. Kate found peace in her faith and became a member of the New Hope Church in Powell, Ohio. Kate had a smile that could light up any room and she would do anything to make people laugh! She was taken too early, but now she is pain free and with loved ones in Heaven. She will be missed by the many people she met over the years. Visitation will be held at Schoedinger Northwest, located at 1720 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, OH 43221 from 4-5 pm on Friday, January 28th. A remembrance service will begin at 5 pm with a catered reception immediately following.
