Although it's been several years since I last saw Kathie, I have many memories of her. My daughters were involved in school and church youth group activities with Austin. Any time I saw Kathie, no matter when, she was such an upbeat person and so fun to talk with. We also both were employees of Columbus City Schools, and it was very rewarding to share positive experiences we had in our jobs. She just seems too young to be gone, but I think that no matter how long she lived, she would have always seemed young; she got a lot from life and gave a lot back.   Martha Hilditch

Kathie was the heart of Gables Elementary.  Everyone who passed through Gables knows who she is and how much she loved the kids, staff & her job. She was the "tooth fairy" to many students and she was always present in the moment with students. She leaves behind a legacy of love. To Kathie's family: We are grieving with you. Sebastian, thank you fosharing your grandma with so many other children.

Kathie was always one of my favorites at Gables.  She so loved the kids and I knew that my boys were in a great place with Kathie.  We've lost a wonderful person but heaven has gained a fantastic angel.

Kathie was a great source of strength. She listened and supported us in our times of need and celebrated with us in our moments triumph and success. She always went above and beyond to help and support others yet greatly appreciated the smallest gestures of kindness from others. Kathie will be missed but we will draw upon her example to support, encourage, and love her family and friends during this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.  Thank you for sharing Kathie with all of us.

We were very fortunate and blessed to have a friend like Kathie. Kathie was very one sided. She always wanted to do something for others but was reluctant to allow anyone to do anything for her. Over the past few years we were able spend many holidays and birthdays together. We shared our grandson which was one the greatest joys in her life. Kathie would do anything possible to help her family and friends but her greatest love was her grandson, Sebastian. She shared many stories of the fun times at school with the classes and teachers. All of them can tell you of her desire to always do what was best for the students. We have lost a very special friend and will treasure her memory the rest of our life. We loved and already miss Kathie and send our love and condolences to Jerry and all of Kathie’s family and friends.
