

Kenneth David Allen, 67, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was born September 7, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Harold and Helen (Howarth) Allen. Ken graduated from Lincoln Highschool in Vincennes, Indiana in 1971. He went on to obtain his bachelors in Music Education at North Texas University. After eight years of teaching, he joined the United States Army and served for 23 years as an instrumentalist and band commander. Following retirement from the Army, he taught middle school music and volunteered with a local high school marching band in Elizabethtown, KY. From there the family moved to Grove City, OH where he was an active member at Buckeye Christian Church, serving on the worship team. He enjoyed playing in many local community bands. Ken was passionate about music, fishing, and sports, but his greatest joy was found in spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Farrell. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Lesa Allen; children, Michelle (Jamie) Byrum, Jen (Tim) Thomas, and Scott (Joanna) Allen; grandchildren, Lilly, Brooks, Amelia, Aasha, Molly Jo, and Lena; sister, Sandy Ernst; brother, Jim (Minnie) Allen; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Buckeye Christian Church, 1528 London Groveport Rd., Grove City, OH 43123 where funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. Service will be webcast live at www.buckeyecc.org/funeral-livestream .
