

Kenneth R. Meyer, age 77, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, in San Francisco, California at Coming Home Hospice, with his children by his side. Born on January 20, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ken lived a life marked by dedication to family, professional achievement, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Ken earned his bachelor's degree from Capital University in Bexley, Ohio. His career was distinguished by his leadership and expertise in the insurance industry. He retired at the age of 51 as Vice President of Underwriting and Special Life at Jackson National Life Insurance. His early retirement reflected not only his professional success but also his desire to spend more time with those he loved.
A devoted family man and sports enthusiast, Ken found joy in creating lasting memories with his children and grandchildren. Summers were often spent at Cedar Point’s Camper Village, where he delighted in sharing the excitement of amusement park adventures with his family. He also cherished trips up north—moments filled with laughter, relaxation, and togetherness.
A lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes fan but later in life also rooted for the Michigan Wolverines after his son and grandson graduated from the University of Michigan. He was happy to see the Ohio State Buckeyes win the national Championship on his birthday this year.
Ken had a passion for gardening and took pride in nurturing vibrant outdoor spaces. His love for animals was evident in the care he gave to all family pets over the years. Whether playing with them or ensuring their well-being, Ken’s caring nature shone through.
Ken is lovingly remembered by his son Joseph Meyer and daughter-in-law Chauna Meyer; daughter Erin Meyer; granddaughter Allison Meyer; grandson Zachary Meyer; and sister Linda Cockrell. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Peggy Reefer Meyer; father Earl J. Meyer; and mother Mary F. Meyer.
Ken will be laid to rest next to the love of his life, Peggy Meyer, at Glen Rest Memorial Estate in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
