Dearest Kevin,

My heart aches knowing you're gone. Your love and dedication to Alec and your kids were truly inspiring. You tried your best to embrace our culture, learning to cook delicious Filipino dishes and speaking Hiligaynon and Tagalog just so you can make Alec feel even more special. Your heart was big, full of love, kindness, and patience. You made sure everyone was taken care of, especially Alec, who loved you so deeply. Your kids will always cherish the memories and love you gave them.

I will never forget the laughter we shared, the stories you told, and the silly jokes that made everyone smile. Your prankster side and dad jokes were legendary, and we'll always treasure those moments. You had a way of making everyone feel seen and loved. 

Your loss has left a huge hole in our hearts, but we're grateful for the time we had with you. You showed us what it means to love selflessly, to care for others, and to live life to the fullest. May you rest in God’s eternal embrace, my brother Kivan (as I used to call you). 

You may be gone, but your love remains with us, and we'll continue to celebrate your life and legacy.

What a privilege it was to have known you in this lifetime. Until we meet again.

It is a humble and sacred honor to serve you and your family at such a  time.  Events like this render one mute.  We are all thinking the same thing, "such a loving young man - so kind - such a happy family - so much future and hope ahead - such a senseless and preventable loss". We cannot take away your pain, but we can walk with you through the valley.  My heartfelt prayers will continue with you into the months ahead.

A gentle soul, a kind heart, a loving husband and father. Kevin, you’ve given my sister the best years of her life. We’ll miss your corny jokes that always made us laugh, even when they made us roll our eyes.
We’ll never forget how you’d try to say Ilonggo words, always eager to learn and be part of our family in every way you could. You loved deeply, especially your beautiful babies. You were so proud of your 19-month-old daughter and your sweet 5-month-old son.

You treated my sister like a princess every single day. You never missed a chance to tell her how pretty she is, how loved she is, how lucky you were to have her. You gave her the kind of love that everyone hopes to find. You worked so hard to give your family everything they needed, and you always made sure she knew that everything would be okay, because with you, it always was.

Kevin, thank you for loving them so completely. You’ve left behind so much love, and we’ll hold onto that forever. We’ll miss your warmth and your laughter but we’ll carry your memory in our hearts always.

Although it’s been a while since I’ve seen Kevin, I remember him as a wonderful sweet young boy. One memory that I look back on and smile was I believe on a 4th of July we went fishing in the canal behind our house and he caught a huge carp. He was so excited and fought the fish like a pro!!! We had to run to the house to get a net to help him land the fish.. the look on his face while he was battling that fish made the day!! 
I’ll always remember Kevin and that day.

We’ve never met, but I felt moved to leave a note. My heart aches for your family, and I pray your spouse and children find comfort and peace through this unimaginable loss. The absence of someone so deeply loved changes life forever, and I hope they are surrounded by strength, warmth, and the gentle care of those who love them most.
