

Lance J. Porter, 85, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2018. He was born October 17, 1932, the oldest of three children born to Lewis and Sadie Porter and was a proud resident of Flytown. He graduated from Central High School, Class of 1950. Lance was honored to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. By growing up alongside the Greatest Generation, he modeled a strong sense
of work ethic by devoting over 30 years of exemplary service with the U.S. Postal Service, also retiring from the Franklin County Dept. of MRDD. His family values were reflected in his 43 years of marriage to Sug (Aileen) and raising their five children. He enjoyed golfing and family vacations. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Aileen (Smith) Porter, son Lance J. Porter and granddaughter, Annie Robinson. He is survived by his children, Candy Bennett, Matthew Porter, Adam (Brenda) Porter and Nancy Porter; sisters Barbara (Harold) Moss and Benita Porter; grandchildren, Lance Austin (LA) Porter; Chante Reeves, Brea and Adam Porter, Michelle, Michael, Jonathon, Pearl, Jeremiah, Isabelle, Nehemiah, Ezekiel, Persia, Daniel and Sarah Robinson as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends. Family will welcome friends from 4-5pm Sunday, January 14, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230 where a memorial service will begin at 5pm.
