Larry Lee Scott, age 72 of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Larry was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Red and Virginia Scott. Also preceded in death by his brother, David Scott, sister, Donna Scott, and mother-in-law, Naomi Ruth Adkins. Larry was a hardworking man who started working at an early age. He began with delivering newspapers and caddying at local golf courses. Through caddying, Larry had the opportunity to caddy for Jack Nicklaus dad and it was also the way he earned his very first car. As an adult, Larry began laying carpet and eventually changed careers and began selling cars. He was truly a people person and excelled at that. He was talkative, funny and generous, especially to his extended nieces and nephews, taking them on fishing trips and going the extra mile to find that special birthday gift, from a coo-coo clock to a baby doll. Previous resident of Welaka, Florida for more than 20 years, Larry and his wife wanted to be closer to family and settled in Ashland, Kentucky. He enjoyed fishing, was an animal lover, gambling, especially craps, and visiting flea markets and antique shops. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Patti Scott; daughter Stephanie (Phil); grandson, Zach; sisters-in-law, Linda (Clyde) Browning, Peggy (Philip) Vance, and Vicki Asebes; special nephew, Frankie Butler; and many other extended family members including nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
