

Laura Ann Mackey Nixon, born October 20, 1933 to the late John and Lula Mackey, passed away April 19, 2018. Laura was raised in Oak Hill, West Virginia before moving to Columbus, Ohio at age 18. She was previously employed at FandR Lazarus where her late husband Bob said she owed more each week than what she brought home on her paycheck! Laura was a social butterfly, attending Red Hat events, TOPS, Dodge Senior Center, book clubs, water aerobics, and Westgate United and Glenwood United Methodist Churches. She also loved shopping and trips to Nashville with dear friends Gay Smith and Joanne Hemry. A special thanks to good friends and neighbors Diane Krebs, Sue Thomas, Shelby Hagens, Helen Fridenmaker, and Dave and Ginny Howard for all the cards, books, calls, and especially the visits to Mill Run. Laura is predeceased by her husband Bob, granddaughter Jennifer, parents, and siblings June Allison, Mary Garner, John Mackey, and Jim Mackey, as well as special friends Cathy Horton (Lucy to her Ethel) who's escapades were numerous, Martha Mehrle, and Betty Turner. She is survived by daughters Joyce (Joe) Clevenger and Karen (Matt) Stattmiller; Grandchildren Josh (Rachel) Clevenger, Megan Clevenger, Emily (Gregg) Pancero, and Sonny (Sarah) Stattmiller; Great grandchildren Mackenzie, Zackary, Harper, and Grace Roush, and Benny Stattmiller; Sisters-in-law Carol Bolin and Kathy Mackey; Brother-in-law Jim Garner, and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Mill Run Gardens for the loving care Laura received. Family will receive visitor from 9-10:30 am on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio where funeral service will be held at 10:30 am with Rev.
