Leona Mae Rapp

Leona Mae Rapp, age 100, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 in Alpine, California. She was born on October 28, 1916 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Adin and Mary (Cliff) Beard. Leona served in the Navy as a WAVE and volunteered for many years at the USO. She was a secretary at Lennox Heating and Cooling and retired after 30 years. She received the Super Senior Award for her volunteer work at the Upper Arlington Senior Center and volunteered in its office since 1984. Leona also volunteered her time by crocheting baby blankets and hats for area children hospitals. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Beverly Greco and Bill Clarke; great-grandchildren, Diana (Buck) Hourcade, Linda and Cindy Clarke; great-great-grandchildren, Shane Greco, Camdyn Hourcade and Amanda (Chad) Tindle; siblings, Alice Harris and Robert Beard; nieces and nephews; and many special friends. In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her first husband, William Eyster; second husband, Dale Rapp; daughter Margaret Graham; son-in-law, David Graham; siblings, Mildred Leahy, William, Adin "Bud" and Herbert Beard. Family will receive friends 4-6 PM on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, where a funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, February 23, 2017.
