

Leonard Alvin Rowe, 79, of Columbus, OH passed away February 12, 2017 at his son's house after years of failing health. He was born March 15, 1937 in Urbana, OH to the late Oren and Ethel (Miller) Rowe. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Alice (Metz) Rowe and brother, Maurice Rowe. He is survived by sons Len (Leonard Edward) and Wayne Allen of Columbus, and many caring nieces, nephews and friends. He was a veteran of the US Army and worked many years as a meat cutter for Big Bear and Cardinal Foods and later worked as a delivery driver for Domino's and Hamilton Flowers. He was a hard worker and an asset to the companies and people he served. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and especially taking vacations with his family. He had a wonderful childlike enthusiasm for life and a quick wit that could catch one off guard even up to his passing. He was the guy who would always stop to help a stranger stranded on the side of the road. He will be greatly missed by his sons, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held at Schoedinger East Chapel 5360 E Livingston Ave from 2-4 PM on Saturday February 18, 2017with a brief service to follow. Afterwards there will be a gathering at McNeill Farms Clubhouse 7460 Ladykirk Dr, Blacklick, OH. Interment will be at noon Tuesday February 21, 2017 at Mt Carmel Cemetery in Kennard, OH.
