

Lois Given, age 100, of Columbus, died Saturday, June 03, 2017 at Willow Brook Christian Home. She was born July 6, 1916 in Columbus, OH to the late Fred Farley and Violet (Little) Farley. Lois adored all her family and there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with all of them. She was easy going, upbeat and uplifting to everyone who knew her. Lois and her late husband, Bill were members of the American Kennel Club and owned Willow's Kennel where they bred and trained show dogs. Lois was an avid card and bingo player. She was a member of Franklin United Brethren Church and a former member of Columbus Baptist Temple. Lois is preceded in death by husband, William Given; daughter, Joanne Williams; her parents; Grandson, Mark Williams; brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Mary Ellen Farley; step-mother, Velma Farley; step-father, Verne Little and son-in-law, Bob Gump. She is survived by her children, Judy (Jan) Pierce, Janet Gump, Linda (Dan) Layshock, Karen (Greg) Rugg-Klapheke, son Bill (Marian) Given Jr., grandchildren Bob (Lori) Williams, Joyce (Dean) Truman, George Williams, Thomas Gump, Doug Dawson, Rob (Michelle) Gump, Joanne (Ralph) Siegfried, Aimee (Thomas) Smiley, David (Cheryl) Layshock, Nathan Rugg, Derek Rugg, Chelsea (Dave) Pfefferle, Jordan Rugg, April (John) Stone and Mark (Sabrina) Given; 21 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; niece, Nancy (Bob) Richard; along with many great nieces. Family will receive friends Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 11-1 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Jersey Presbyterian Cemetery.
