I am surprised and saddened to hear of Lori's death.  I babysat for the Friend girls when I was a teenager living on S. Brinker, and I was Lori's 4th grade teacher.  She was a delightful young girl. I hope her family is finding comfort. She is certainly gone too soon.

I know Lori from working with her at the Columbus VA. So sorry and shocked to learn of her passing. Such a beautiful and sincere person. We’d run into each other at the grocery and talk and talk. She spoke so highly of her children. May she rest peace. My condolences to her family.

~ I've been at a loss for words ever since I heard about Lori's passing just last Sunday.  I've always missed the Friend Family, and wondered how everyone is.  My Father would update me every now and then over the years.  I've been living in California since 1999 and have only been back to Columbus a few times since.  
I remember swimming in the backyard pool with Lori when we were kids one summer, and I remember running around playing in her Parents basement when we were even younger.  
I've always said a prayer for the Friend Family over the years.  Russ' sense of humor always made me feel at home.  
Lori is in Heaven, I'm sure of that.  But it reminds me of the story about how Jesus felt when His Friend Lazarus died.  Jesus felt it was too soon and brought him back to life because He missed him.  I wish it were possible to do that now, but I'm sure Lori is enjoying her new life in Heaven.
Losing a Cousin is tough, especially one who's younger than me.  But again, she's probably very happy to have completed her journey.  We'll all be together again someday, in God we trust.

I am soooo sorry to hear of your loss, Russ and Barb.    It's been years since I've seen you and my heart goes out to you at this difficult time.   I remember such good times with you and your girls and I remember how much you all enjoyed going to Hatteras for vacations.   You raised such a wonderful family.  Sometimes we don't understand why things happen like they do, but some day we'll find out all the answers.    Jesus loves us so much and I pray that He watches over you and holds you both close as you mourn this great loss.   Keep your hand in His and hang on really tight.    He'll get you through these tough times.
