Louis P. “Doc” Goodwin, 89, of Columbus, died Monday, July 02, 2012 at home. He was born October 9, 1922 in Flintville, TN. He received his Bachelor Degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was retired from the Columbus Dispatch as a Cartoonist. He was a member of Maize Road Baptist Church, a Bridge Life Master, avid fisherman and gardener. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary and survived by three children Joyce, Tim and Jon and six grandchildren. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. Graveside service will be held Friday at 9 AM at Eastlawn Cemetery.
