Louise Jean Conie (De Santis), a cherished daughter of Upper Arlington, was born on April 7, 1934, and passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025. A devoted Catholic and proud Italian, Louise’s life was marked by a love as vibrant as the flowers she adored. Her warm heart, gentle spirit, and steadfast faith enriched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Louise was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Louis De Santis and Giovina (Jean) De Santis (Magi), her beloved husband, Jack Conie Jr., her dear granddaughter, Kristen Elizabeth Conie, and her sister Margaret Bracaloni—whom we believe were waiting at heaven’s gate to greet her with open arms. Her legacy of love and kindness lives on in her family: she is survived by her two loving sons, Jack and Christopher; daughter-in-law, Susan; her adoring grandchildren, Caroline and Jacqueline, along with Caroline’s husband, Steve; her treasured great granddaughter, Louella, her sister Giovina Viol, her brother, Dr. Louis DeSantis, her sisters-in-law, Carol Conie and Christel Conie, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A woman of deep faith, Louise found comfort and strength in her Catholic beliefs. In her honor, we offer this prayer to Saint Rose of Lima, the patron saint of florist whose compassionate spirit mirrors the grace Louise exemplified:
Dear Saint Rose of Lima, gentle guardian of the faithful,
We ask for your loving intercession on behalf of our beloved Louise.
May your example of humility and devotion guide her soul safely to the embrace of our Lord.
Bring solace and hope to those of us who mourn, and let perpetual light shine upon her spirit.
Amen.
Besides her faith and family, Louise loved traveling; always having a bag packed. She was an avid Ohio State football fan being a season ticket holder for over 50 years and at every bowl game. She enjoyed golf, theatre and music. Louise’s memory will forever bloom in our hearts, a reminder of a life lived with love, faith, and beauty. May she rest in eternal peace.
Her Family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 4-7 pm at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 1740 Zollinger Road. Funeral Mass 10am, Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at St John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street, Monsignor Frank Lane, Presider. Entombment to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne.
