Marion "Marcia" (Shields) Hoover, 98, died on March 5, 2021. She was born on June 27, 1922 to the late Edward and Eleanor Shields in Columbus, Ohio. Marion attended Broad Street Elementary and West High School, where she obtained her high school diploma. After school, she worked as a secretary at Third Ave. Methodist Church and Glenwood UMC. She retired as an executive secretary from Columbus North and South District Mission Society of the UMC. Marcia enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, was competitive at Euchre and loved Bingo. She was known at Mayfair Village as a "social butterfly". Her family remembers fondly that when she could not remember something, she would ask, "How soon do you need to know?". Marcia will be remembered for her gentle, sweet spirit, her beautiful smile, sense of humor, and her deep, but quiet faith in God.
Along with her parents, Marcia is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hoover; son, Jeffrey Hoover; brother, Jim (Jane) Shields; sisters, JoAnn (Shields) Huffman, and Carol (Shields) Snedeker; brother-in-law, Roger Snedeker; and son-in-law, Dr. Sherman Pease.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Lynn (Hoover) Pease; grandchildren, Jason (Karen) Pease, Brad (Ieva) Pease, Jennifer (Pease) Brabb and Rebecca Pease (Ty) Brown; great-grandchildren, Lillian, Eoin, Finn, Evita, and Tomas; brother-in-law, Bob Huffman; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN where a visitation will be held on Monday, March 8 from 4-7pm. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 9 at 11am after one hour of visiting time from 10-11am.
