Margaret Hutchinson

Dr. Margaret (Maggie) Hutchinson, 91-1/3, earned her B.S. at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, in 1946, her M.S. at Texas Christian University, Ft. Worth, Texas, in 1962 and her Ph.D. in 1965. She was a professor of mathematics at the University of St. Thomas, Houston, Texas, for almost 30 years, a volunteer tax preparer in Houston and Columbus for 15 years, assistant treasurer for All Saints Episcopal Church in New Albany for a decade, and a volunteer at the Gahanna Senior Center.

Maggie is survived by her daughter Eve W. Nordyke, her grandson Scott Kaltenbaugh, her granddaughter Eve R. Rogers and husband Justin Wright, brothers Timothy Reames, Patrick Reames, and sister-in-law Marna Reames. Her son Scott Wiscamb and brother Peter Reames predeceased her. Maggie’s family will receive visitors this Monday, July 31st at All Saints Episcopal Church, 5101 Johnstown Road, New Albany 43054, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm with a service at 6:30 pm. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to her favorite charity the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. “Death is nothing at all…Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?”
