Marian R. Thompson, age 85, our most loving and beloved mother, passed from time into eternity on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. She was born on October 3, 1926, the first child of Jimmy and Frances Norris, who preceded her in death. She leaves us to be reunited with James “Jimmy” Norris Thompson, the fine young man she was proud to call her son. She has missed him beyond telling these past 6 years, and our joy is in knowing they are now reunited. In addition to Jimmy, she was preceded in death by her brother, David, and sister, Cheryl. Marian is survived by her children, Denice Thompson with whom she made her home, Bill (Marianne) Thompson, Paul (Jackie) Thompson, and Melanie Thompson; daughter-in-law, Drusie Thompson; grandchildren, Bill (Ginger) Thompson, Nikki Pellegrini, Amy (Brian) Kuhlman, Holly Carr, and D’Arcy Dixon; 13 great grandchildren; and other extended family. Marian enjoyed Southern Gospel music, baseball, and reading, and you almost never saw her without the glittery jewelry she adored. Her wit and wry sense of humor will be sorely missed and never equaled. Her imprint on our lives is indelible. She will be greatly missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Ss. Augustine and Gabriel Catholic Church, 1550 E. Hudson Street; Rev. Joseph N. Bay, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visit www.schoedinger.com to leave condolences.
